Privacy Policy

This is a starter policy for a product that has not shipped a store build yet. We will update it before first sale if collection changes.

LakeLens("we," "us," or "our") is a reservoir planning app — a DBA of D K Land and Cattle, L.C.. This policy explains what data LakeLens collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. It applies to the LakeLens app (iOS and Android) and to the lakelens.app website.

Our commitment

LakeLens is built so you can plan a day on the water without creating an account. Favorites, trips, tracks, photos, and bed packs live on your device. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information, and we do not use your data for advertising.

Data that stays on your device

Most of what LakeLens touches never reaches our servers:

  • Bed packs and map overlays you download, stored locally for offline use.
  • Favorites, trips, tracks, float plans, and photos you attach to a pin.
  • Settings such as units, draft, night map, and the lake-level override you typed.
  • Location, with your permission, to put your boat on the map and for optional proximity or anchor-alarm features. Decline it and the rest of planning still works.

Uninstalling the app removes on-device data. We cannot restore it.

Data LakeLens requests from public services

The app fetches public water-surface elevation from government gauges and public weather (forecast, wind, UV) so it can paint today's lake. Those requests go to the agency or a cache we operate. They are not tied to your name. The last successful fetch is stored on the device for offline use.

Map tiles may be requested from Mapbox when you have a connection and have not cached that region. Mapbox processes those requests under its own terms.

Data we may collect

LakeLens does not have user accounts. There is no sign-up, no password, and no required email.

If we add crash reporting or anonymous usage analytics before launch, this policy will name the vendor and what is sent. We will not add advertising SDKs or request tracking across other companies' apps.

Purchases go through Apple or Google. We receive a subscription status so the app can unlock. We do not receive your full payment card number.

Website

lakelens.app is hosted on Vercel. Standard server logs (IP address, user agent, pages requested) may be collected by the host to operate the site. We do not currently run an advertising pixel. If we add website analytics, we will name it here.

Children's privacy

LakeLens is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us using the information below.

Changes to this policy

We will update the "Last updated" date when this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect or how we use it. Material changes will also appear in app release notes after launch.
